Blankie

What it does

Blankie lets you mix custom ambient soundscapes with 14 built-in high-quality sounds. Offline, open-source and no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Made for macOS with native media controls so you can just focus and relax better.

Free, open-source ambient sound mixer for Mac, iPhone, iPad and CarPlay. Mix sounds like rain, waves or white noise to sleep, focus or relax.

Start, stop and adjust your mixes right from your Mac's menu bar. You can also hide the dock icon and run Blankie completely in the background. Give any preset its own looping lockscreen artwork for a little extra peace to settle into while you listen and relax. Your favorites and Quick Mix on the left, the full grid on the right. Access your favorite presets and sounds in the car, with simple now playing controls and Quick Mix. Blankie comes with 24 built-in sounds. Start with one, add another, and keep building your soundscape until the mix feels right. Make and save multiple mixes to revisit later. Star the ones you use most to keep them at the top. Set how long you want Blankie to play…from blankie.rest

  I built a simple ambient sound app with no ads or subscriptions2025 · ambisounds.app · ▲314

I’ve always liked having background noise while working or falling asleep, but I got frustrated that most “white noise” or ambient sound apps are either paywalled, stuffed with ads, or try to upsell subscriptions for basic features. So I made Ambi, a small iOS app with a clean interface and a set of freely available ambient sounds — rain, waves, wind, birds, that sort of thing. You can mix them, adjust volume levels, and just let it play all night or while you work. Everything works offline and there are no hidden catches. It’s something I built for myself first, but I figured others might…

  Ambiphone, no-nonsense ambient music and white noise2024 · ambiph.one · ▲357

I built this free, no-nonsense white noise app. I know there are plenty of them out there already, but I wanted to make something beautiful and easy-to-use, without logins or ads or in-app purchases or any of the other stuff a lot of them have. I appeared on The Economist's The Intelligence podcast [0] this week talking about Ambiphone and another ambient music project, Ambient ScotRail Beats [1] - I'm on at about 17:30 There's a big selection of music and sounds already but I'm always adding more - if there's anything you'd like to see added, let me know! Tapflow 2.0▲1,125

We built Tapflow for devs, designers, PMs, and tech folks who’ve been sitting on internal docs, templates, and systems — but never productized them. Upload a PDF, notes, or workshop deck, and Tapflow drafts a structured product (with chapters, teaser and pricing plans). It’s good for AI kits, onboarding guides, design systems, and frameworks. You can sell through Stripe, LemonSqueezy, or PayPal. Real-time collaboration is in early beta. No site builder, no LMS — clean design and just focused tools to ship. Fully bootstrapped and just launched on PH today →…
