BookTranslatorHub
Upload your book, get a publish-ready translation back.
What it does
Most self-publishers leave money on the table by only selling in one language. BookTranslatorHub fixes that. Upload your manuscript and cover, pick a target language, and get back a fully formatted, KDP-ready translation package — interior, cover, and all. What used to cost $2,000+ and take weeks now takes minutes. Built specifically for Amazon KDP publishers who want to sell worldwide without the hassle.

Author here. I'm a software engineer who started writing hard science fiction on the side. I built this tool because I wanted to write in plain Markdown and go straight to Amazon KDP without touching Word, InDesign, or Vellum. The workflow: I write stories in .md files, one heading per chapter, --- for scene breaks. When I'm ready to publish, I run one command and get a paperback PDF, hardcover PDF, and Kindle EPUB with correct margins, typography, and scene breaks. The tool wraps Pandoc and XeLaTeX with a custom LaTeX template and a Lua filter that handles the scene break conversion.…
- SWSelfPubKit – write, publish, monetize books on your own2023 · ▲13
Hi HN, I made a tool for self-publishing authors called SelfPubKit.com. The all-in-one editor allows you to write chapters, export them to epub, pdf. You can also publish product as a standalone website with direct payments set up with your Stripe account which means you get 100% of payments minus Stripe’s fee. The idea came about when I wanted to write a short guide myself. Anyhow, let me know what you think. I’ll share tech details in the comment below.
- IBI built a fast, accurate translation API for 1/30th the price of Google2023 · translateapi.web.app · ▲15
Hey HN, I built an alternative to Google translate that's fast, accurate, and 1/30th the price. 20+ supported languages, not billed until 100k tokens, and already used thousands of times with real language learning users. The landing page has a demo for you to test performance yourself for free with no card required. (Also landing page says 1/13 the price because had to account for all 3 big names, with varying prices each). I built this as a workaround for my language learning startup, and it was perfect at a fraction of the cost. Hopefully it can help other devs in accessibility…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
