In plain words

Pixate was a mobile app prototyping tool designed to change how developers and designers created iOS applications. It allowed users to prototype and design app interfaces without writing code. The product was acquired by Google in 2015 but was shut down on October 31, 2016, as the team chose to pursue a broader vision of product design and development beyond the tool's original scope.

From the sources

When we launched Pixate, our mission was to change the way mobile apps were prototyped. We joined Google just over a year ago to continue our mission, and to pursue a broader vision of changing the way products were designed and built. While a lot of the ideas we’ve been developing could work inside the Pixate framework, we believe we can have a larger impact if we move beyond its scope. To allow us to focus on our broader vision, we are saying goodbye to Pixate. Pixate was shut down on October 31, 2016. If you have any questions about sunsetting Pixate, please check out the FAQfrom pixate.com
