Homebrew has 13,000+ packages and zero great GUIs. brew-browser is a real native macOS app (Tauri 2 + Svelte 5, not Electron) that makes the whole catalog browsable, installable, and beautiful. Pre-baked AI-generated descriptions and categories for every package, magic search that understands "video player" → VLC.Offline-first, MIT-licensed, zero telemetry, zero accounts.

The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate).
