Bumpsale

Create a button and sell something using incremental pricing

Bumpsale launched on March 8, 2019 with 2 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 7 years on.

What it does

Have an existing product and use Stripe? Bumpsale lets you sell something and after each purchase have the price increase by an amount you choose.

Bumpsale is a fair dynamic pricing tool for independent creators that allows you to start your pricing at $1 and have the price automagically bumping up after each sale as your audience grows.

Start at a dollar so almost anyone can take part. Add one button to your website and let the price rise with every sale as your community arrives. This is a real demo button, so no real money moves. It's safe to test out! Click it, tap it, bump it, check out with Stripe's test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 (any future expiry, any CVC) and watch the price rise in realtime for the next buyer. Every purchase raises the price by one cent. That's the whole idea. You get to set the bump price. The price starts at a dollar so almost anyone can take part, and it climbs a little with each sale. Your community becomes the major backer, and you earn predictably as word spreads. It works for online courses,…from bumpsale.com

When a customer checks out, the "state of the purchase" is in Stripe. You're then expected to track the purchase in your own database via webhooks. There are over 258 event types. It's far too easy to have a payment be failed in stripe and "subscribed" in your app.” We've built an OSS abstraction to build any pricing model 1 line of code. The idea is a layer over…
