Campfiree
I built Campfiree because I got tired of platforms treating users as products. On Campfiree, users submit feature ideas and vote on them weekly. Moderation is handled by randomly selected community juries, no corporate team deciding what's acceptable. It's free with ads or $7/year without (free during beta). We have 55 users so far and ship features every week based on what the community votes for. I'd love honest feedback on the model and the product.
Campfiree launched on March 7, 2025 with 14 votes, #1,530 of 7,215 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Campfiree is a social news platform built for people, not profit. No engagement farming, no algorithm controlling your feed, just real discussions, on your terms.🔥
A place for your interests, and the people who share them.
A no-look pass is satisfying because everyone has to understand the play at slightly different times. The receiver's reaction can be as good as the move itself. Would you rather watch a compilation of clever assists or spectacular finishes? A discussion about technical rules becomes much easier when it starts with an everyday example. Would you rather read a short scenario about a user, a diagram showing the network, or a comparison of the proposed options? An audience member shouts something, the speaker responds instantly, and suddenly the unscripted moment is what everyone remembers. What makes a spontaneous stage exchange work for you? Data brokers, tracking pixels, targeted…from campfiree.com

Non.io, a Reddit-like platform Ive been working on for the last 4 years2023 · non.io · ▲1,943Heya HN, I've been working on a reddit-like platform as my primary side project for the last few years. Doing a (very) soft launch today, mainly because I want to use it to encourage discussion of alternatives. How non.io works: 1. Free to browse, paid to interact. 2. Minimum subscription is $2 (though you can choose more). I take $1 to run the servers, everything left gets split evenly between everything you upvote that month. It's a simple model, but I hope it's a better one than the freemium model we've been relying on for the last few years. Fundamentally I feel like any ad-supported…

OverleadFeb 2026 · overlead.co · ▲146Here's the problem: I launched two products. I wrote blog posts. I posted on X, built in public. I tried running ads. And you know what actually got me customers? Replying to someone on Reddit who asked, "What's the best tool for this?" One reply. Three signups. I felt like an idiot for not doing it sooner. But here's the issue: I don't have time to refresh Reddit all day looking for these posts. I have products to build. Bugs to fix. Emails to answer. Life to live. So I built Overlead to do the searching for me. Overlead scans Reddit, Quora, and Hacker News (and many more to come) for…

FoundersWall2025 · founderswall.com · ▲35I used to be just a blogger. Now I build internet products, still without code, using AI, design, and taste. I was building in public on X for last 2 months. And honestly, I got tired of how it became performative and started to feel fake. I shipped 2 products. Both failed to get any real traction. I kept sneaking into popular builders’ profiles, hoping to learn how they do it. One thing I kept seeing everywhere, product launch directories. I thought here is the scope. So I started building one. Same UI like the rest. Nothing special. Suddenly one day when it was half built, I realized…
Grigora2d ago · grigora.co · ▲75Hello HN, I'm Karan, and after a hack wiped out my blog and revenue ($15-20k/month), I was propelled to create Grigora.co. Our beta platform is designed to be a secure, straightforward alternative to WordPress, addressing the pain points I faced as a blogger. With 165 users exploring Grigora and zero paid customers so far, we're eager to evolve. We invite the HN community to test Grigora.co, share feedback, and join us in this mission to streamline web security and functionality. Looking forward to your insights, Karan
