Can you make beautiful graphs with Python?
I see so many beautiful charts made with R. And not that many made with Python. So I wanted to prove that it was doable with Python too! I wrote 22 tutorials to create stunning charts I love with Matplotlib. Why are R people creating more polished charts??

Can you spot the better chart?2025 · matplotlib-journey.com · ▲7I've been using Matplotlib for years and even created python-graph-gallery.com to help people quickly build charts with Python. However, I’ve always struggled to grasp the "big picture" of how everything fits together. That's why I'm now working on a new project called Matplotlib Journey, and I’d love to get your feedback! My goal is to explain everything from scratch, so anyone can gain a true understanding of how this essential library works.

Minimalist library to generate SVG views of scientific dataMar 2026 · github.com · ▲47Just wanted to share with HN a simple/minimal open source Python library that generates SVG files visualizing two dimensional data and distributions, in case others find it useful or interesting. I wrote it as a fun project, mostly because I found that the standard libraries in Python generated unnecessarily large SVG files. One nice property is that I can configure the visuals through CSS, which allows me to support dark/light mode browser settings. The graphs are specified as JSON files (the repository includes a few examples). It supports scatterplots, line plots, histograms,…

What: Mr. Graph is a python library designed to make composing graphs of sync and async functions easy! Use google style docstrings to automagically create dataclasses and chain together function calls into graphs. Why: I like the design of Dagster, but not the latency. For apps and systems engineering, sometimes I want to compose a graph out of regular python functions. I don;t need all the heavy machinery that comes with a full workflow engine. Current features: - Use with either async or sync functions - Uses google style doc strings to name return values. - Creates dataclasses for each…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Outlines is a Python library that focuses on text generation with large language models. Brandon and I are not LLM experts and started the project a few months ago because we wanted to understand better how the generation process works. Our original background is probabilistic, relational and symbolic programming. Recently we came up with a fast way to generate text that matches a regex (https://blog.normalcomputing.ai/posts/2023-07-27-regex-guide...). The basic idea is simple: regular expressions have an equivalent Deterministic-Finite Automaton (DFA) representation. We…
