What it does

Using spatial memory to launch and switch apps in macOS creates a surprising productivity boost. Charmstone is a unique but simple spin on cmd+tab & the dock that easily fits into your workflow. It's especially great if you hide your dock.

How many times do you change which app has focus in a day? Before building this, I used to use a--> <!-- friction. With Charmstone, all of that memorization, muscle memory and customization overhead goes away.--> <!-- with practically no learning curve. You can use the modifier+cursor movement, modifier+arrow keys, or a highly optimized trackpad gesture--> <!-- that is simple to perform but not so easy to accidentally trigger. For free you can configure 4 of the 16 items in the near up, down, left, and rightfrom charmstone.app

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
