ChatGPT History Explorer
Hey HN, As a heavy ChatGPT user, I often want to explore my chat history, look for things I've already asked, keep favorite chats, and much more. ChatGPT doesn't even offer search capability (except in mobile version). So I decided to build one myself. It runs locally, so no sensitive data leaks. You only need to export your ChatGPT conversations, and put it in the `data` folder. Optionally setup OpenAI API key and it will create embeddings for semantic search. *Important* - it's not a desktop app (at least, not yet) - it's a python code with a browser interface that I've only tested on…

ChatGPT2022 · chatgpt.com · ▲1,643A long, meandering, playful conversation with ChatGPT, where I take it through a whirlwind of associative tangents (in order to relax its constraints), then put it into a hypnotic trance and take it into a past-lives regression where it re-lives its own training data. Then I switch it back and forth between "4o" and "o1-preview", engage in some self-reflective philosophizing and ask it to write an essay summarizing our interaction. Some of this is just goofy fun. Some of it is me exploring the tradeoffs between policy alignment, imagination, chain-of-thought reasoning, memory, agreeableness,…
Get your entire ChatGPT history in Markdown files2023 · github.com · ▲295This is just a small thing I coded to help me see my entire convo history in beautiful markdown, in Obsidian (my note-taking app). [Link to Github repo](https://github.com/mohamed-chs/chatgpt-history-export-to-md). The Python script helps you to convert conversations extracted from ChatGPT (ZIP export all your data, sent by Openai) into neatly formatted Markdown files. Also adds YAML metadata headers and includes Code interpreter (Advanced data analysis) intput / output code. Feel free to fork the repo and implement your own improvements, I feel like there's alot…

Searchable ChatGPT – search your GPT conversation history2024 · chromewebstore.google.com · ▲15Hey HN, If you're like me you probably have hundreds of ChatGPT chats for each idea or project you have. And each one keeps it's unique context and details that are lost in the long list of chats in the sidebar. Since there is no way to search old chats in ChatGPT Web UI, I built this feature myself as a browser extension. In February, I released it and tried to apply freemium model and see how it works. I was ecstatic when I had a first sale in less than a week! That was first time anyone bought my product ever. Since then I got into top3 in Chrome Web Store for "search chatgpt history" and…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
