Check Run Reporter
The test reports you wish your CI service had built
Check Run Reporter launched on September 27, 2020 with 9 votes, #1,099 of 3,898 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.
What it does
See your test and style results without leaving GitHub. Supporting JUnit, Checkstyle, and more.
You and your team don't have time to dig through your CI service to figure out what test failed or what code style rule you violated. With a small tweak to your CI scripts, Check Run Reporter shows failures right on your GitHub pull requests. Continuous integration is critical to delivering high quality products and services in a timely fashion. Though most CI services do a fantastic job of running your builds, tests, and deployments, few do a good job of telling you which of your tests failed or why. Check Run Reporter delivers your test and style results directly to GitHub as check runs, so you can spend less time digging through poorly formatted CI logs. I created check-run-reporter.com…from check-run-reporter.com

I built a tool to get instant test results2022 · github.com · ▲96I got sick of the old software development loop: Change code -> Run tests -> wait -> wait some more -> look at failures. I decided to build a tool that will enable you to: Change code -> look at failures. No wait time, no explicit test running. Under the hood: - Runs the whole test suite and collects code coverage per test. - For each auto file save, analyzes the changes on the tests. - Runs changed tests in the background. - Display results, the loop time from change to test results is approx 250ms. Instead of: code -> alt+tab -> arrow up -> rerun all the tests -> wait ... -> test results…

Since everyone seems to be making a github application, I thought I'd share mine. It's an aggregated view of all of a given person's github projects, as well as easyish lookups for linkedin/stackoverflow/hackernews. It attempts to determine both productivity (how much code did this person write?) as well as impact (did anyone care?) I'd love any feedback, but go easy on the number of simultaneous searches as I'm trying to play nice by github's api limits. check it -- http://www.gitalytics.com

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Almost eight years ago I launched an online “Linux sysadmin course for newbies” here at HN. It was a side-project that went well, but never generated enough money to allow me to fully commit to leaving the Day Job. After surviving the Big C, and getting made redundant I thought I might improve and relaunch it commercially – but my doctors are a pessimistic bunch, so it looked like I didn’t have the time. Instead, I rejigged/relaunched it via a Reddit forum this February as free and open - and have now gathered a team of helpers to ensure that it keeps going each month even after I can’t…
