Checksy

A minimal daily to-do that lives in your browser

Checksy launched on June 8, 2026 with 2 votes.

What it does

Checksy is a Chrome extension for staying on top of your day without switching apps. No sign-up, no sync — just a clean place to put what needs to get done. Your list resets every morning. Completed tasks are archived instantly, and unfinished ones are saved as missed. Browse your history by day or week, search past tasks, set recurring tasks, attach notes, export to CSV, and open everything with Alt+Shift+C. 100% local. Your data never leaves your device.

I built a Chrome extension to help with routine web browsing. If you regularly check the same set of websites (news sites, dashboards, webcomics, etc.), Web Checker lets you organize them into lists and cycle through them systematically. Each day I check through a set of the same websites and now instead of clicking through bookmarks or trying to remember what I've already visited, I now go through my lists in order. The extension remembers where I left off if I don't finish a list in one sitting. I built this primarily for my own use but figured others might find it helpful. Feedback…

  • Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

  • Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
