What it does

Build a private chess opening repertoire, comment ideas on key positions, organize variations in groups and folders, quiz your prep, use Stockfish, and track thin lines with analytics.

Build a private chess opening repertoire, organize variations in groups and folders, quiz your prep, use Stockfish, and track weak lines with analytics.

Build your repertoire, organize every variation, quiz the lines that matter, and see where your prep is still thin. ChessLair keeps your moves, comments, quizzes, and depth signals in one place before your repertoire turns into noise. Keep openings readable with groups, folders, and focused variation limits. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
