Claim the Valley
Put your startup in Silicon Valley for $1
What it does
Claim the Valley is an interactive Silicon Valley map where startups can claim a building starting at $1. Your logo goes on the roof and links directly to your site. Pay once. No subscription, renewal, or expiry. Your building stays yours until another founder outbids you. Every new bid must be higher than the last, and the Valley opens from the center outward.
An advertising marketplace shaped like a city. Every building starts at a dollar. Claim one, put your logo on the map, and hold it until somebody outbids you.
Every claimed building first, ranked by what it cost, then what is open. Click a name to open its building. Not on this list yet: Founders District ( 12 ) · The Loop ( 29 ) · Builders Flats ( 61 ) · The Garages ( 121 ) — those rings have not opened. The valley starts empty and everything costs the same. What the centre ends up being worth is decided by the people who want it. Every building on the map is open and every one of them costs a dollar. Pick the address you want, put your logo on it, and it points at your site. You pay once, and that is the only time you pay. The building is yours with no end date — nothing renews, nothing expires, and nothing is ever billed to you again. Anyone…from claimthevalley.com

I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up.
