What it does
🧹 Clean up your terminal's junk drawer. Scans & purges forgotten CLI tools (brew, npm, pip, cargo, etc.) + their leftover config files—and cleanly uninstalls itself when done. Zero hypocrisy. ✨ - AnasNafees1802/clenv

clenv is a terminal tool that scans your system for forgotten CLI tools installed via brew, npm, pip, pipx, cargo, gem, go, apt and more — then lets you cleanly remove them (binaries and leftover config files) through a slick interactive TUI. And yes, when you're done, it offers to uninstall itself too. As developers, our terminal is our second home. Over time, we install dozens of CLI tools and utilities to solve immediate problems—a quick formatter here, an API client there, an experimental utility somewhere else. While it is easy to clean up desktop applications (they sit visibly in our Applications folder or Start Menu, prompting us to uninstall them when they are no longer needed), CLI…from github.com

Clean ClodeMar 2026 · cleanclode.com · ▲154I’ve been impressed with Claude Code but one thing that sometimes gets in the way in my workflows is the messy, mangled text that is shown when pasting text from the Claude Code terminal sessions. So I built an open-source utility that cleans extraneous white space, pipes, and other characters from your CC/Codex pastes. For example, you can turn this: `How can I create a Claude Code script that │ │ cleans up extraneous characters and cleans up │ │ extra spaces, new lines, and other messiness │ when I copy from Claude Code terminal │ │ prompts or copy code from Claude Responses in │ │…

Mac Cleanup GoJan 2026 · github.com · ▲100Instead of a traditional command-style CLI, it runs as a TUI in the terminal, allowing users to inspect cleanup targets before proceeding. On my macOS machines, caches and app data often take up more than 40% of disk usage. Manually cleaning them each time felt tedious, so I built this tool to make the process easier. While similar tools exist, I found it hard to quickly understand how items were categorized or how important each cleanup target was, so I built my own. Talanoa▲343Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
