In plain words

Compiling C in the browser using WebAssembly is a development tool that enables C code compilation directly within a web browser through WebAssembly technology. It is designed for developers who want to run C compilation workflows without leaving their browser environment. The tool stands out by removing the need for local development setup while maintaining the ability to work with C code compilation.

From the sources

We’ve reached a major milestone in making any software run with WebAssembly. Thanks to the newest release of Wasmer (4.4) and the Wasmer JS SDK (0.8.0) you can now run clang anywhere Wasmer runs! This allows compiling C programs from virtually anywhere. Including Javascript and your preferred browser! (we tested Chrome, Safari and Firefox and everything is working like a charm). For those eager to see it in action, head over to wasmer.sh to try a live demo (note: it requires a 100MB download): Note: we attempted running clang few years ago, but because of WASI limitations we were unable to call posix_spawn which limited the usage and usability of clang in the browser, Firefox and Safari…from wasmer.io

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
