Starting today, DirectAI’s Zero-Shot Image Classification & Object Detection APIs are public. Define classes and objects exclusively in natural language - no training data required. And if something goes wrong, you can resolve the edge case in natural language too! We’ve been hard at work to bring powerful and controllable computer vision to everybody. To do this, we’re building novel ways of interacting with the knowledge stored in large foundation models. We’re bootstrapping from zero-shot methods to create new approaches that allow for more control over decision boundaries, without requiring model fine-tuning. With this release, we’re letting people build and edit as many models as they want, in real time, without having to collect data or pay for training. We’re also allowing up to 1000 real time inference calls per month for free! Our models still have a ways to go, and we’re hoping that by allowing the public to interact with them we can get a better understanding of where they’re failing so we can improve them for everyone. I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there.
