Copycat
Yet another clipboard manager, but it's a CAT!
Copycat launched on July 12, 2016 with 6 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 10 years on.
What it does
Mac clipboard manager that keeps 1,000 clips locally — no cloud, AES-GCM encrypted, keyboard-first fuzzy search. One-time purchase, $3.99 on the Mac App Store.
Copycat remembers the text you copy so you can find it again in seconds — no more re-typing, re-searching, or losing your place. Your clipboard history stays on your Mac. No iCloud. No servers. Type a few letters in order — "gco" finds "git commit" — and your clips re-rank on every keystroke. Technical aside: a linear-time fuzzy scorer over an 8 KB prefix per clip keeps search cost flat, no matter how long your clips are. A few letters, no exact match needed — and copycat re-ranks your clips live as you scroll. ⌘1 through ⌘9 copies one of your top nine clips. ⌘V drops it in. Every clip stays on your Mac, AES-GCM encrypted, key locked in the Keychain — flip on Skip Sensitive Content and it's…from meetcopycat.com
