CraigTrend - graph job data over the last year
http://www.craigtrend.com/ I've been accumulating Craigslist data for the last ~1.3 years and decided to do something with it. What you see is two days of work over Thanksgiving. Note: I'm using JQuery's $.each() for regex matching the words on the page -- which is expensive and seems to crash chrome+safari (firefox works just fine). If anyone has any insight, or can suggest something quicker let me know.

The concept was to rethink the way we browsed Craigslist and shopped online. The main section, the "homepage" is a tree map of recent craigslist posting sorted by popularity using a slightly modified version of Hacker News' ranking algorithm. The newest page is a masonry view of the realtime stream of the craiglist posts as they are added to the system (much like Hacker News' newest page.) The top page is the masonry view version of the homepage. The game page is a FaceMash-like game for the posts, which influences the overall scores and popularity of items.

- DCdidtheywinornot.com Single Purpose Scores Site2010 · ▲33
I built didtheywinornot.com this week in my spare hours before work. Currently it only does baseball scores, but as new seasons start in the fall, I think I'll expand it to other sports. Would love some feedback and any ideas as to how to make it better, keeping in mind that this is meant to be single purpose and not at all bloated. Did I miss a stat that people really care about? Is the amount of information good enough?
- IBI built a keyword research tool without a monthly subscription2024 · seo-stuff.com · ▲9
Hi HN! My name is Yossi, and I'm a solo indie maker. SEO tools are super pricey and free tools often fall short, leaving most users to costly subscription-based tools. So, I built SEO Stuff, a keyword tool that uses a credit-based system for builders like me who use SEO more sporadically. Have a great day!

I got tired of trying to figure out my vacation balance throughout the year, so I made this website to be a stupid simple solution. It was pretty satisfying to bang it out over a weekend. * not all holidays are supported, and probably will do some custom-holiday-in-cookie functionality, but this is a common US list. * basically only looks good on 'normal' sized browsers
- MFMy first web app. Shiftfrog.com2011 · ▲6
I've spent the last couple weeks working on getting this up and running. It's my first web app. The use case it is designed for is for shift workers who work x days on, y days off. So if you ask them "Are you going to be able to go to my wedding on July 15, 2012" they have no idea. This helps solve that problem. Feed back as always is appreciated.
