CrimeScore

Crime data API and safety maps for PropTech teams

CrimeScore launched on June 17, 2026 with 4 votes, #3,322 of 22,647 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.

What it does

Most crime data APIs either wrap FBI city-level stats or dump raw incidents. CrimeScore scores every census block group nationally using ML models trained on 35M+ police records from 48 departments. One API call returns a score, grade, component breakdown, and contributing factors. Built for real estate, PropTech, and location teams that need safety context without building pipelines.

Search a US address or ZIP code for a modeled neighborhood Safety Score. Explore maps, view a sample report, or evaluate CrimeScore APIs and embeds.

Search a U.S. address or ZIP for its modeled Safety Score and local map. Compare locations, download a report, or use the data in your product. No account required. Your search opens the public map centered on that area. ZIP 11367 combines 38 scored Census block groups. The selected area shows why a local result can differ from the broader ZIP estimate. 46 points apart inside one ZIP. Scores run from 0 to 100, and higher is safer. A ZIP code estimate summarizes 38 scored local areas (Census block groups). That figure is a count, not a coverage percentage. Compare the same component across locations; different components are not directly comparable. Modeled Safety Scores are not official…from crimescore.io

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

  • Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
