In plain words
Crypt is a tool that stores and retrieves encrypted configuration parameters from etcd or Consul, helping developers manage sensitive data like passwords and credentials outside of source code. It offers both command-line decryption for startup scripts and a library for in-application use. The tool addresses the common problem of hardcoded secrets in applications by centralizing encrypted configuration in distributed systems.
