In plain words
DankGPT lets users ask questions and get answers from their uploaded documents using hybrid semantic search combining dense embeddings and sparse vectors. It processes 200-page PDFs in under 5 seconds and offers summarization tools. The platform requires no login to try and includes a beta API for extractive document question-answering. It's designed for researchers, students, and anyone needing to quickly extract information from papers, lectures, or reports.

A GPT4 powered research tool for students and academics.
Quickly break down complex content and research across dozens of documents with our gpt4o-mini powered research assistant. According to the context, one powerful prompting method is the Ask Me Anything Prompting (AMA) method, which involves collecting multiple effective, yet imperfect, prompts and aggregating them to lead to a high-quality prompting strategy. Another method mentioned is the chain-of-thought prompting, which is a general approach inspired by several prior directions such as prompting, natural language explanations, program synthesis/execution, numeric and logical reasoning, and intermediate language steps. Additionally, there are other prompting approaches mentioned in the…from dankgpt.com

We’ve trained a generative AI model to browse the web and answer questions/retrieve code snippets directly. Unlike ChatGPT, it has access to primary sources and is able to cite them when you hover over an answer (click on the text to go to the source being cited). We also show regular Bing results side-by-side with our AI answer. The model is an 11-billion parameter T5-derivative that has been fine-tuned on feedback given on hundreds of thousands of searches done (anonymously) on our platform. Giving the model web access lessens its burden to need to store a snapshot of human knowledge…

Hello fellow hackers, we made a site that gets GPT to answer your question using the info on a webpage you specify or document you upload (e.g., a large textbook .pdf file). Background: When ChatGPT came out, I had the idea of having it pull answers from my stereo receiver's annoyingly dense 32 page manual. My weekend project prototype proceeded to surprise with great answers—just like what we've all experienced by now. My co-founder thought we should productize it, and make it easy to use online. So here we are with a very early beta! (Try it on a HN thread...)

My friends and I were really excited to try out ChatGPT when it was released. We were amazed by its power and capabilities. We were thinking how great it would be if people could use ChatGPT to ask questions from their own data. So me and my friends had decided to build such a tool. We are delighted to announce that we are releasing a public beta of our tool> After you upload all your pdf files into it. It can search for relevant documents without perfect keyword match, summarize takeaways from the document specific to your question, and extract key information from the document. It can help…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there. I really recommend going through the list, it made my day. [0] "Could you share your personal blog…
