What it does
Datapane makes it simple to build beautiful reports from plots and datasets in Python and share them with your community or team.
We've made the difficult decision to stop driving this project and therefore we will no longer actively respond to issues or pull requests. If you would like to take over maintaining this project independently, please let us know so we can add a link to your forked project on our GitHub . The final release, 0.17.0 , has been optimized to focus on free local report saving, with unused features and analytics removed, and libraries updated to allow usage for as long as possible. Datapane makes it simple to build interactive reports in seconds using Python. Datapane reports are interactive and can also contain pages, tabs, drop downs, and more. Once created, reports can be exported as HTML,…from docs.datapane.com

Hello HN! We’re Leo and Mandeep, founders of Datapane (https://datapane.com). We're building a way to create reports, dashboards, and web apps from your existing data using Python. Think of it as a combination of React and htmx, specifically designed for the Python data stack. Our GitHub is https://github.com/datapane/datapane and you can try building a report or app in ~2 minutes on Codespaces: https://try.datapane.com We started building Datapane at our previous start-up, where we struggled to deliver ML model results to clients. Much to our…

Scripton – Python IDE with built-in realtime visualizations2025 · scripton.dev · ▲449Hey HN, Scripton (https://scripton.dev) is a Python IDE built for fast, interactive visualizations and exploratory programming — without the constraints of notebooks. Why another Python IDE? Scripton hopes to fill a gap in the Python development ecosystem by being an IDE that: 1. Focuses on easy, fast, and interactive visualizations (and exposes rich JS plotting libraries like Observable Plot and Plotly directly to Python) 2. Provides a tightly integrated REPL for rapid prototyping and exploration 3. Is script-centric (as opposed to, say, notebook-style) A historical detour for why…

Dear HN, I am Riwaj, the cofounder of dstack.ai (https://github.com/dstackai). A few months ago, we built an online service that allows users to publish data visualizations from Python or R. The idea was to build a tool that did not require additional programming or front-end development for publishing data visualizations. Such a code can be invoked from either Jupyter notebook, RMarkdown, Python, or R scripts. Once the data is pushed, it can be accessed via a browser. Open-sourcing dstack: During our customer discovery phase, we realized that dstack.ai should integrate a lot…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
