What it does
Day Base is a customizable database designed to help you keep track of anything you collect or manage, from books and inventory to travel, recipes, plants, and clients. You can design your own data schema, or paste any spreadsheet (CSV, Excel) and Day Base will automatically build the schema for you. Additionally, you can add records hands-free using Siri and Shortcuts. Rest assured, your data remains private and secure in your iCloud, with no account, server, or third party accessing it.

Productivity Developer Ryan McMillen Language EN English Size 2.3 MB iPhone, iPad Day Base is your database for everything — a simple, powerful place to organize, track, and keep the things that matter. Most apps decide what you can store. Day Base hands you the blueprint: create your own collections, define your own fields, and shape the app around your life instead of the other way around. WHATEVER YOU COLLECT OR TRACK Books, records, and wine. Sneakers and trading cards. Home inventory and warranties. Travel memories and restaurants. Recipes, plants, projects, clients — if you can list it, you can build it. DESIGN YOUR OWN FIELDS Add exactly the fields each collection needs — text,…from apps.apple.com

InstantDB – A Modern Firebase2024 · github.com · ▲1,145Hey there HN! We’re Joe and Stopa, and today we’re open sourcing InstantDB, a client-side database that makes it easy to build real-time and collaborative apps like Notion and Figma. Building modern apps these days involves a lot of schleps. For a basic CRUD app you need to spin up servers, wire up endpoints, integrate auth, add permissions, and then marshal data from the backend to the frontend and back again. If you want to deliver a buttery smooth user experience, you’ll need to add optimistic updates and rollbacks. We do these steps over and over for every feature we build, which can…
Base, an SQLite database editor for macOS2025 · menial.co.uk · ▲693I recently released v3 of Base, my SQLite editor for macOS. The goal of this app is to provide a comfortable native GUI for SQLite, without it turning into a massive IDE-style app. The coolest features are - That it can handle full altering of tables, which is quite finicky to do manually with SQLite. - It has a more detailed display of column constraints than most editors. Each constraint is shown as an icon if active, with full details available on clicking the icon. This update also adds support for attaching databases, which is a bit fiddly with macOS sandboxing. I'd love to hear any…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
