What it does
Most people haven't written anything down. No accounts list. No wishes. No note to the people they love. When something happens, their family spends months searching shoeboxes and old emails. DearFile is the private file your family needs to find. People, account details, wishes, a note. No passwords, no credentials. Just the map: enough to know where to look and who to call. Simple enough to finish in an afternoon. Private by default. I built this after losing my dad. I hope you never need it.
The private file your family will be grateful you made. People, accounts, wishes, and a personal note. All in one place.
One file. Five sections. Free to start. Your family has a clear map to everything that matters. Your family keeps read-only access forever, even if DearFile closes. No passwords. No account numbers. Only the details to find them. Answer five questions. Watch your family file build in real time. Save it free when you are done. My dad organized everything into a black bag. Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
