Seamless Live Coding Demos!

Demo Remote is a tool for using a remote device (e.g., a mobile phone or tablet) to control snippets used in live coding demos. It reads the code blocks from any markdown file and renders them on any device with a web browser. Tapping a code block makes its content instantaneously available to be pasted on your Mac. I don’t want your data, I don’t even have somewhere to collect it. Demo Remote includes no analytics packages or code. There is no server for it to be sent to anyway. If you opted into macOS system analytics on your device, then aggregate data is shared through Apple’s developer services. Demo Remote exists to provide a simple tool for people doing live coding demos. Demo Remote…from patmurray.co

Then I created Video Pencil (which connects to your computer and lets you draw on…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
