Dizzy – Customized Shadcn UI Components
Found some abstractions in the Shadcn UI react component library and put sliders to them. Curated some google fonts. Realized I could generate an entire Next app for download in a server action. Hoping to build something which saves people time makes more unique looking apps.
Dizzy – Customized Shadcn UI Components launched on March 11, 2024 with 8 votes, #1,754 of 4,270 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.
What it does
Dizzy was a tool for generating fully-styled, deeply customizable shadcn-based sites in minutes. With font handling, depth controls, and micro-enhancements that made it feel like your design system rather than a template.
Over the years I've picked up a lot of tricks for building apps fast, and Dizzy was one of my favorite side projects—a way for me (and eventually thousands of others) to generate fully-styled, deeply customizable shadcn-based sites in minutes. I pushed it further than most theming tools, adding font handling, depth and shadow controls, subtle animation tweaks, and other micro-enhancements that made it feel like your design system rather than a template. But Dizzy has been free from day one, and between framework shifts (Next 16, Tailwind v4, shadcn's new token system) and the support load, I no longer have the time to maintain it. So I'm retiring the service. If there's enough real interest…from dizzy.systems

Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Shadcn/UI theme editor – Design and share Shadcn themesOct 2025 · shadcnthemer.com · ▲136Hey, I built https://ShadcnThemer.com - a web app for creating and sharing themes for shadcn/ui, made with my some of my favorites, Next.js 15, Tailwind CSS 4, Drizzle ORM, and Supabase. The goal was to make it easy to visually design shadcn color themes, preview them live across various example UIs, and export them straight into your projects (as CSS or via the shadcn CLI registry command). I had a bit of experience going into this because I built the Theme Studio for VS Code in the past, but it was fun using a modern stack and leveraging Cursor to help me along the way this…
