I built DoNotify because I kept missing Google Calendar events. Telegram calls worked for v1, but they required the app and didn't reliably ring through Do Not Disturb. So I rebuilt it around regular phone calls via Vonage's Voice API. When a Google Calendar event is due, DoNotify calls your phone number and speaks the event details aloud: title, time, location.
