Duel.

Bet against a stranger. Only quitters lose.

What it does

Duel matches you with a stranger attempting the same goal, same deadline, same stakes. Put real money on it, whoever follows through wins both stakes. If you both complete the goal, everyone gets their money back. The only way to lose is to quit. No judges, no screenshots. Goals trackable on Strava or GitHub are verified automatically. Everything else runs on public reputation. Your win/loss record is visible to everyone. Cheaters get flagged. Forever. Still building. Waitlist is live.

Pick a goal. Stake money. Get matched with a stranger. The only way to lose is to quit.

Duel matches you with someone attempting the same goal, same deadline, same stakes. One of you will win. Put your email down if you think it'll be you. Automatically confirmed at the deadline. No disputes. No excuses. $10 to $100. Your money sits in escrow until the deadline hits. We pair you with a stranger chasing the same goal, same deadline, same stakes. • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up.
