Dune

Context-aware Mac keypad to automate workflows + meetings

Dune launched on April 20, 2026 with 630 votes, #13 of 21,248 launches that month and more than 99% of that year's launches.

In plain words

Dune is a context-aware keypad for Mac that automatically adapts its three programmable keys based on the active application. Designed for developers working in GitHub, VS Code, and Claude, as well as professionals in frequent video meetings on Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet, it enables quick access to relevant functions without manual reconfiguration. The keypad learns the foreground app and adjusts its behavior accordingly, streamlining repetitive workflows and meeting controls.

From the sources

Dune is a Context-aware Keypad for Mac that sits next to your keyboard and changes what its three keys do in real time based on the app running in the foreground. Built for developers who live in GitHub, VS Code, Claude, Openclaw, and for anyone running AI agents or in back to back meetings on Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.

We are a team of designers and engineers, who have been building in wearables and hardware for close to a decade.

Dune syncs with your calendar and surfaces your meeting link two minutes before every call. One key joins directly. Another sends a running late email to attendees, without you needing to ever move your cursor. In any meeting, Key 1 becomes your mic toggle and Key 2 your camera. No more squinting at the screen to find the unmute button. One key press also brings your active meeting window to the front, however deep you are in your tabs. All three keys are fully configurable. Surface notes from previous conversations, send personalized follow-ups the moment a call ends, or trigger anything else you need. That is how Dune works out of the box. Configure it to fit however you work. Dune…from projectmirage.ai

Hi HN community, I’m Zach, founder and CEO of Warp, and am excited to show you Warp, a fast Rust-based terminal that’s easy to use and built for teams. As of today, Warp is in public beta and any Mac user can download it. It works with bash, zsh, and fish. The terminal’s teletype-like interface has made it hard for the CLI to thrive. After 20 years of programming, I still find it hard to copy a command’s output; I always forget how to use `tar`; and I always have to relearn how to move my cursor. To fix fundamental accessibility issues, I believe we need to start innovating on the terminal,…

Hi HN, Francesco from Cua here. I hacked this project together last weekend, inspired by the Codex Computer-Use release and lessons learned from deploying GUI-operating agents for our customers. The main problem: when a UI automation process controls a desktop app today, it usually takes over the human’s session. Your cursor moves, keyboard focus gets stolen, windows jump to the front, and you have to stop working until the agent is done. That is why we have historically avoided encouraging users to run these processes directly on their host machine, instead relying on VMs or GUI containers…

We built an open-source proxy that sits between coding agents (Claude Code, OpenClaw, etc.) and the LLM, compressing tool outputs before they enter the context window. Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vFZ6MPrwjw#t=9s. Motivation: Agents are terrible at managing context. A single file read or grep can dump thousands of tokens into the window, most of it noise. This isn't just expensive — it actively degrades quality. Long-context benchmarks consistently show steep accuracy drops as context grows (OpenAI's GPT-5.4 eval goes from 97.2% at 32k to 36.6% at 1M…

  • With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
