In plain words

This is a personal blog post about embedding SSL protocols within HTTP connections, written during a Startup Weekend hackathon in Quebec City. The author discusses using HTTP Upgrade to enable full duplex TCP over standard HTTP connections on platform-as-a-service deployments. The post documents late-night technical experimentation and backend development work conducted during a 48-hour startup competition.

Saturday has been ruff on me because I’m an good backend developer who has no clue on how to use jQuery mobile (OH, I hate to make sliders inside a hell of javascript-resized and absolute-positioned DIVs). And the truth is that the backend is no so important for creating a proof of concept in 48h. So what’s better to change my mind than coding some crazy things at 5 am? As I wrote in my last post , there is no reason not to use a PaaS to deploy your apps. Even when your protocol need full duplex TCP. I hadn’t tested it yet, but I was sure we could use HTTP Upgrade to embed any TPC protocol inside HTTP and deploy this on nodejitsu . It’s a simple echo server that use…from blog.jeansebtr.com

Hi HN! I'm Jarek, and I've built this tool that allows publishing .local domains on the local network using mDNS. It also has a reverse proxy that handles HTTPS termination and port forwarding. I'm working on adding more features, like an index page with all available domains or allowing proxy redirects, so you could redirect from HTTP to HTTPS. Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!
