Emojicode
An emoji based programming language
Emojicode launched on March 4, 2016 with 213 votes, #106 of 4,409 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 10 years on.
What it does
Emojicode is a full-blown programming language consisting of emojis.
As a multi-paradigm language Emojicode features object-orientation, optionals, generics, closures, and protocols. Emojicode compiles to native machine code using lots of optimizations that make your code fast. Emojicode comes with a comprehensive set of default packages. And you can easily write your own. We believe that Emojis have expressive force. Let’s use that to make programming more fun and accessible. We have seen dozens of amazing use cases of Emojicode all over the world. Emojicode appeared in the Fall 2021 test of CS50, one of the largest courses taught at Harvard, and also offered at Yale. Since World Emoji Day 2020, Codecademy offers an introductory course to Emojicode! Check…from emojicode.org
