What it does
Scan a QR, select "Extroid Virtual Webcam" in your meeting app, and you're live. Works with Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, and any browser‑based video platform. Your video stays on your local network – no cloud storage, no driver installs, no app downloads. The mobile side is a web site (aka PWA), not a native app. Extroid monkey‑patches the browser camera API, so it appears as a real hardware device to every site. No special plugins, no admin rights.
Extroid lets you use a connected device camera in browser-based video calls. Connect by QR code, choose Extroid Camera, and keep video off cloud storage.
Install the Chrome extension on your computer, open Extroid in your phone browser, and scan the QR code. Then select Extroid Camera in your meeting—no camera driver or separate desktop app. Start in Chrome on your computer. When the extension shows a QR code, open Extroid here to scan it. Connect the devices for the call, then select Extroid Camera where your meeting runs. Extroid is a browser camera source, not a system-wide virtual camera. Chrome is recommended. Compatible Chromium browsers may also work. Android Chrome is recommended. Browser behavior differs across mobile platforms. The meeting service must let you choose a camera in the browser.
