In plain words
Facebook Messenger is a standalone web-based messaging platform launched by Facebook that allows users to send messages, share media, and communicate with contacts directly through a browser. Designed for anyone with a Facebook account, it separates messaging functionality from the main Facebook platform, providing a dedicated space for conversations. The service supports text messaging, file sharing, and real-time communication with other Facebook users.
