Family Memories
Hi HN, I built FamilyMemories (https://familymemories.video) to solve a personal problem: I had hundreds of old family photos sitting in a digital folder, forgotten. I wanted a way to make them "alive" again without manual video editing. The tool uses AI to generate a 5-second cinematic motion from a single static image. It’s optimized for vintage photos (sepia, B&W, polaroids).
Family Memories launched on February 8, 2026 with 5 votes, #1,883 of 16,628 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was not reachable when checked in September 2026.
What it does
Transform static family photos into Full HD animated videos with music. The ultimate tool for family heritage and digital memories.

Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
