What it does

FlareCare is your comprehensive IBD companion app for tracking symptoms, managing medications, and identifying triggers. Join our community of IBD warriors and take control of your health journey today.

Track food, bowel movements, symptoms, meds, and labs in one gut-health app. Spot patterns and bring clear reports to your IBS or IBD appointments.

Track food, bowel movements, symptoms, and meds in one place, then turn it into patterns and a report your GI can read. Made for IBS, IBD, and sensitive digestion. By the time you’re in the exam room, the flares, the foods, the meds, and the stress have blurred into “it’s been rough.” Keep the record as it happens, and walk in with the month laid out. Bowel movements, Bristol type, urgency, pain, symptoms, stress. Tap, tap, done, without turning every flare into homework. Point your camera at a meal. FlareCare names the ingredients and flags the FODMAP risk, so what you ate sits right next to how you felt. A gut health score, 30-day trends, and plain-language summaries built from what you…from flarecare.io

I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
