What it does
Floe sends files directly between devices over a peer-to-peer connection. No uploads to a server, no accounts, no size limits. Everything is end-to-end encrypted, and the file data never touches our servers, it goes straight from sender to receiver. Works in any browser on any device, with no install. There's also a CLI for transfers from the terminal. Open source and free.
Send files directly to anyone. No uploads, no accounts, end-to-end encrypted. Works in your browser, as a Windows desktop app, or from the CLI.
Secure, encrypted P2P file transfer. No accounts, no file storage, and no registration required. Two devices open an encrypted WebRTC channel and stream bytes to each other. The signaling server brokers the handshake, then steps out of the way. You get a share link and a QR code. The room id rides the URL fragment, which never appears in page requests, server logs, or analytics. Your peer opens the link in any browser, scans the QR, or pastes the link into the desktop app or the CLI. No account on either side. Bytes move device to device over the encrypted channel. Close the tab and the transfer stops. Nothing is left behind. Floe's signaling server exists to introduce two devices, and that…from floe.one

But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
