Floodcraft – Short videos on any topic in 30 seconds
Hey HN, Floodcraft gives you a short AI-generated video slide show on any topic in about 30 seconds. It mimics the style and format of an Instagram Reel/ YouTube Shorts. Here's a launch video for Floodcraft that I generated using Floodcraft! - https://www.floodcraft.com/videos/Y_rOqAMpy22t7bXx3AyiJ The home page has a few more sample videos [1]. Since the images are generated, it works best for non-realtime topics like history, literature, arts etc; basically anything that wouldn't need to reference specific or latest images. Will incorporate real images soon. I'm a…

I'm a visual learner and have spent hours watching YouTube Shorts (especially from the Epic History channel) so built Floodcraft to get similar videos in realtime for any topic that I wanted. I've always been interested in knowledge ingestion and improving the way people learn. Previously, I built Smort.io [2] to let people easily edit, annotate, and share articles & ArXiv papers. Just prepend smort.io/ before any article url read in Smort. The Show HN post [3], got on the front page of HN and more than 50,000 people from 132 countries have used Smort so far. - CSCreate short form videos on any topic using Generative AI2023 · topic2clip.streamlit.app · ▲11
Hey HN, Long time lurker first time posting. This is a streamlit app I wrote as a side project. It's a Generative AI webapp for creating short 30 second informative videos on any topic or subject under the sun. It's not perfect by any means, but a cool demo. It takes around a minute to generate so please be patient. Email is optional, only if you want link to watermark removed completed video clip. Any feedback/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! JD P.S. I am actively looking for Senior Python/DevOps/MLOps roles in California. Contact info in my profile. Thanks.

Hiya! So I've been playing around with having Claude make videos for a bit now even had some success posting the results to TikTok (and setup a whole pipeline so Claude can generate and post autonomously). With the release of Nano Banana 2 Lite, I was curious show fast I could make the generation, so last night I gave it a whirl and got down to around 30s for short-form video. It uses GLM-5.2 fast via Fireworks to generate the scripts and image prompts and, like I said, Nano Banana 2 Lite for the images, gpt-4o-mini-tts for the narration, and ffmpeg to string it all together and add the Ken…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
