FRAME 37

Shoot blind. Wait. Develop. Just like real film.

What it does

Frame 37 turns your phone into a disposable film camera. Load a roll, shoot 36 frames with no previews or retakes, then rewind and send it to the darkroom. Your photos appear only after the film is developed complete with analog-inspired colors, grain, light leaks, and imperfections. No endless shooting. No instant checking. Just 36 chances to capture moments and the anticipation of seeing how they turned out.

Frame 37 is a film camera app. Load a film, shoot 36 frames blind, wait for the darkroom. No preview, no retakes. Point & wait.

The photo you can't see yet is the best photo you'll take today. Frame 37 brings back what made film photography feel like magic: limits, patience, and the moment your roll comes home. Pick a film from the fridge. Every stock has its own color, grain and mood. A small viewfinder, a frame counter, a flash. You can't see what you shot. The finished roll goes to the darkroom. It comes back in hours, not seconds. Open the envelope. 36 honest frames — keep them, print them, share them. Every film photographer knows the legend. Sometimes, after frame 36, the camera gives you one more. A gift. An accident. Framefrom frame37.app

 • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

 • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
