Functional Programming Using Haskell (book)
I'm writing a book on developing real applications in Haskell. The book covers the principles of purely functional programming with a focus on practical usage and applications. You don't need any prior experience with functional programming, but you should have at least a bit of experience in at least one other programming language. I'm sharing three free chapters from the book which you can access here: Chapter 2: The Haskell Development Environment https://docsend.com/view/rws6zy3 Chapter 3: Haskell Syntax and Basics https://docsend.com/view/djhy5kf…

Hi everyone! I just released the Practical Python Projects book! (https://practicalpython.yasoob.me) I am happy to announce the first version as a release candidate. I have poured a lot of love into writing this book and would love to hear what you guys think. (A limited 100% off and discount coupons at the end) This is not a pure beginner book. The book does assume some background Python knowledge. You need to know the basics like methods, functions, classes, and such. If I use something that is not typically covered in beginner Python books, I will explain it before I use it.…

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
