GitHub Classroom has now reached the end of its journey. Since it launched ten years ago, over 3.73 million students and educators have used Classroom across more than 305,000 unique classroom instances, helping students around the world learn real-world developer skills for free. Thank you to everyone who taught, learned, contributed, and helped shape what GitHub Classroom became. As of August 28, 2026 , the GitHub Classroom service has been retired , but any accounts, repositories, and organisations you created through Classroom are not affected by this service retirement.
