What it does

GoQick is the best workaround of common necessity. with GoQick you can speed up or slow down your ceiling fan with your TV remote or any other remote or your choice. I built an under-the-door fan duct to lower bedroom CO22025 · lepekhin.com · ▲64

Hi HN, This is my attempt to fix groggy mornings by lowering my bedroom CO2 from 1700 ppm to ~900 ppm. I designed a simple, 3D-printed fan duct that directs air under the door to improve air circulation. A note on the design process: I used CadQuery, a Python library for creating parametric 3D models. I didn't know tools like this existed and highly recommend it if you can program; it turned out to be more convenient than manually iterating on prototypes in a GUI. The project is open source and the post explains the full build. Happy to answer any questions.

  • Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

  • Hey we are Computable. We spent years building trading infrastructure at Jump Trading and Coinbase. From that point of view, compute looks like energy markets before 2000: everything trades through private bilateral leases, there’s no visible price, and nothing can be resold. The same H100 rents at a 2x spread depending on who’s asking, and once you sign a 24-month lease, it can never change hands. So we built a market for GPU nodes, sold by the calendar week. Here are three things you can do on it that you can’t do anywhere else: - Buy exactly the weeks you need. Three nodes for the last…
