In plain words
GreptimeCloud is a fully managed serverless backend for Prometheus, the open-source monitoring system. It handles metric storage and querying without requiring users to manage infrastructure. The service is designed for teams that need to monitor applications and systems but prefer not to handle deployment and maintenance themselves. GreptimeCloud eliminates the operational overhead of running Prometheus, allowing users to focus on analyzing their monitoring data.

Early this year, we released a private preview of our time-series DBaaS , GreptimeCloud , and a public playground based on it. After another 3 months of hard work, I'm glad to announce our next major milestone for GreptimeCloud: the Public Tech Preview. In this release, we introduce a managed Prometheus solution for users who previously relies on open-source Prometheus for their application monitoring and analysis. Enhancements are also added to different tiers of the service to make it usable for more scenarios and a wider audience. Prometheus, renowned for its simplicity and the potent capabilities of its query language, holds the title of being the most widely accepted open-source…from greptime.com

Oodle – serverless, fully-managed, drop-in replacement for Prometheus2024 · blog.oodle.ai · ▲84Hello HN! My co-founder, Vijay and I are excited to open up Oodle for everyone. We used to be observability geeks at Rubrik. Our metrics bills grew like 20x over 4 years. We tried to control spend by getting better visibility, blocking high cardinality labels like pod_id, cluster_id, and customer_id. But that made debugging issues complicated. App engineers hated blocking metrics, and blocking others' code reviews was not fun for platform engineers either! Migrations (and lock-ins) were very painful, the first migration from Influx to Signalfx took 6+ months and the second migration from…

I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there. I really recommend going through the list, it made my day. [0] "Could you share your personal blog…
