What it does
Most habit trackers give you streaks. Some give you a grid. GridHabits gives you both, plus stats, and recovery on top. Every day you show up fills a square. The streak drives you; the grid keeps a permanent record even when a streak breaks, so your history never disappears. Forgot or finished late? Honestly recover a missed day, last 7 days only, 7 a month. Forgives a real slip without faking consistency. Stats, custom habits, shareable streak card. iOS now, Android soon.

The grid makes you not want to break the streak, and there’s zero clutter or annoying popups. Dark mode looks great too. Easy five stars. Tried half a dozen habit apps and deleted them all. A mate at work showed me his grid during lunch and I downloaded it that evening. Three weeks later we’re both kind of obsessed. Quiet little competition going on now. A free minimalist daily habit tracker2024 · rdht.vercel.app · ▲158Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

I've been working on a side project called Streak.ly with a friend of mine for the past month or so; it's intended to help keep you motivated to do otherwise mundane daily tasks (like do 10 pushups, read for an hour, etc.) by letting you log "streaks" — consecutive days in a row of doing something. It's in private alpha/beta/gamma/whatever right now (has some rough edges to clean up), but is more or less functionally complete and pretty stable. I'm a big fan of the Seinfeld calendar, and have seen other services which do similar things but were unsatisfying to use, either from an aesthetic…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
