H-1B salary search without fuss
The US Department of Labor releases base salary data for every H-1B visa application and has done so for the past 19 years. This data is often useful to people negotiating an offer, researching a company, or just curious about industry salaries. h1bsalaries.fyi allows you to quickly search through this huge trove of salary data by company name, job title, and location without the obnoxious ads, pop-ups, and distracting elements that are characteristic of other similar websites. In other words, just H-1B salary data. No bullsh*t. Open to thoughts, comments, and feedback.

Heya! Not the usual sort of thing to be posted here, but I wanted to show off what I made yesterday. Here's a sample page about H1-B visas issued in Bogota: The code is source-available (not open source) at . It's my first time choosing a source-available license over MIT, mainly out of fear of existing immigration startups just gobbling this data and code up; frankly I didn't think the implications through though, I just threw a safe license on there. The way the project works is: - Use requests-html to find publicly available PDFs from government pages - Use camelot to OCR the PDFs and…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
