Handwritten Cards
Hey HN, I built a tool that takes a photo or scan of your handwritten text and converts it into a stroke-by-stroke animation. The goal is to preserve the personal feel of handwriting while making it easy to share digitally. Here’s a short demo note if you want to see it in action: https://www.handwritten-cards.de/cards/ff8d6fe46e62fe48773f3... I’d love any feedback on whether you find this useful, potential features you’d like to see, or ways to improve the interface. It’s free to try, and I’m open to all suggestions. Thanks for checking it out!

Create and share digital cards that animate your real handwriting for a personal touch delivered instantly. Handwritten messages carry a personal touch that typed text can’t match. Now, you can write naturally on paper, take a quick scan or photo, and let our system transform your handwriting into a smooth, animated message. Watch as your words appear stroke by stroke, just like you wrote them—before sending them instantly, no stamps required. Whether it's a heartfelt letter, a birthday note, or a thank-you card, your writing stays truly yours. Once you've uploaded your handwritten card, you're not limited to just one recipient. Hi HN, I’ve been working on a small project that transforms handwritten notes into animated, shareable cards. While the create functionality isn’t live yet, I wanted to share a sneak peek by creating a handwritten Christmas card specifically for the HN community. I started thinking about this after seeing too many AI-generated cards, cookie-cutter email templates, and overly polished designs that lack any personal touch. A friend recently sent me a handwritten card in the mail, and I found it nice that he took his time to write a handwritten note. I wanted to capture that same feeling…

Handfonted2025 · handfonted.xyz · ▲40Hey HN, For the last few months, I've been working on a personal project called HandFonted, and I'm excited to share the result with you all. The goal was to build a fully automated pipeline that could take a single image of a person's handwritten alphabets and generate a usable .ttf font file. You can try it here: https://handfonted.xyz And the code is open-source here: https://github.com/reshamgaire/HandFonted The Technical Stack and Workflow: The process is broken down into three main stages: 1. Segmentation (OpenCV): The user uploads an image. I use a series…

I built the world's most impractical 1000-pixel display and anyone in the world can draw on it. It draws a single pixel at a time and takes 30-60 minutes to complete a single image. Anyone can participate in the project by voting for the next image to be drawn, and submitting images. https://kilopx.com/

Kitten TTS is an open-source series of tiny and expressive text-to-speech models for on-device applications. We are excited to launch a preview of our smallest model, which is less than 25 MB. This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

For HTML Day 2025 [1], I made a web service that displays the current sky at your approximate location as a CSS gradient. Colours are simulated on-demand using atmospheric absorption and scattering coefficients. Updates every minute, without the use of client-side JavaScript.
