Hardbin: The world's most secure encrypted pastebin
Hardbin: The world's most secure encrypted pastebin launched on May 18, 2017 with 11 votes, #884 of 3,229 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 9 years on.
In plain words
Hardbin is an encrypted pastebin service where users can share text snippets securely. The decryption key is embedded in the URL fragment, ensuring only intended recipients can access the content. The service uses IPFS, a distributed storage system similar to BitTorrent, to serve both code and data. This approach eliminates reliance on centralized servers while maintaining web compatibility for easy sharing and viewing of pastes.

From the sources
Over the past week I've been working on hardbin . Hardbin is an encrypted pastebin, with the decryption key passed in the URL fragment, and the code and data served securely with IPFS. (IPFS is a distributed content-addressable storage system that is web-compatible; it's basically bittorrent for the web). You can play with hardbin on the hardbin.com public IPFS gateway here . The current IPFS path is /ipfs/QmUGFZAWzWEaHjC1dHAUQ8aKCuKupKsX9vLzhGZV9PLknu/ (liable to become out of date: check on the github repo or hardbin.com if reading this in the future). If you like, you can view a paste via the ipfs.io public gateway at…from incoherency.co.uk
