Help Me! SOS Emergency App
One-tap SOS alerts, even offline
What it does
Help Me! is a one-tap SOS safety app built by a solo Android developer. In an emergency, it calls your primary contact and sends your GPS location via SMS to trusted contacts, even without internet. Optional tools include safety camera, audio recording, alarm sounds, and scheduled safety check-ins. Everything is privacy-first and stored locally on your device.

A couple of months ago, I built this app to help identify people stuck under rubble. First responders have awesome tools. But in tough situations, even common folks need to help. After what happened in Myanmar, we need something like this that works properly. It has only been tested in controlled environments. It can also be improved; I know BLE is not _that_ effective under rubble. If you have any feedback or can contribute, don't hold back.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
