HideLens studio
The video studio with no cloud, and no faces left exposed
What it does
Your footage never leaves your Mac. And nobody in it stays recognisable. HideLens blurs every face automatically — in a video, a photo, or a whole folder at once, and live on your webcam in Zoom, Meet and OBS. It's a full editor too: subtitles, silence cuts, 9:16 reframe, transitions. No server, no account, no upload, no telemetry. Cut the Wi-Fi and it all still works. €9.99 once — €1.99 for the first 100.
Anonymize images, video and live on Mac: auto detection, manual zones, video tracking, virtual camera and batch processing. A complete studio, 100% local.
Automatic detection, manual zones, video tracking, virtual camera, batch processing: HideLens Studio brings together the whole anonymization chain. Not just another filter — a real studio, 100% on your Mac. Blurring a face is something any app can do. Truly anonymizing — across a whole video, without missing anything, without sending anything — is a different craft. A photo to post, a video call, a livestream, a whole folder: HideLens Studio covers it all, without ever leaving your Mac. Blur faces in real time in front of the camera. Blur, pixels or eye bar, with an automatic safety net. A webcam that's already anonymized for Zoom, Meet, Teams or OBS. The people you talk to never see the…from wkld.fr

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up. One…
