HikeLoad is a free hiking planner that brings routes, gear and food together in one place. Plan your hike day by day — add distances, accommodations and GPX files. Build your gear inventory with weight breakdowns per category. Create food lists with calorie tracking and link them to specific days. Share your finished route with a public link — others can view and comment without an account. No spreadsheets. No paid tiers. Free forever.

  Hi HN! This is a trail companion web app (think AllTrails) I hacked together in a couple weeks time. I was inspired to create this project while training for an extended backpacking trip. My motivation was to create a UI tailored exactly to my liking, and to be able to track my progress along the trail without draining my battery. I also wanted to experiment with PWA technologies.
