hugpoint.io
I built hugpoint.io to solve a specific problem: when a group tries to decide where to meet, the first person to suggest somewhere implicitly anchors the decision around their own location. Everyone else agrees to avoid friction. Someone ends up with a disproportionate commute. Nobody mentions it. The tool calculates each person's reachable zone using real transit data (not straight-line distance), finds the intersection, and surfaces Google Places results inside that overlap — ranked by a Fairness Score that measures how equally reachable a venue is for everyone in the group. Technical…

What it does
Deciding where to meet is one of those small social problems that wastes a surprising amount of goodwill. Someone suggests a place that's a 4-minute walk from their flat. Everyone agrees. Someone ends up with a 45-minute commute. Nobody says anything. hugpoint.io fixes this. Enter everyone's starting point, choose your transport mode, and it finds the venues that are genuinely fair for the whole group — ranked by fairness and Google rating. Free. No signup. 30 seconds.

A website that heatmaps your city based on your housing preferences2025 · theretowhere.com · ▲321For the past few months, I've been working on a website that answers two different questions: - Where in my city have the best travel times to all the things and people I care about? - Given a listing, how far is it from all the things and people I care about? Personally this was fueled by my own frustrations when I was apartment hunting in NYC. I was frustrating to have to juggle so many Google Maps tabs when I was evaluating a listing, and it was also annoying to not have full confidence that I was even searching in the right places. I wanted to be close to work, a Trader Joe's, and a…
